The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF), in collaboration with Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, has announced the official venues for the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024. The prestigious tournament will run from 2–30 August 2025, marking a historic return to East African soil for the first time since Rwanda hosted CHAN in 2016.
CHAN 2024 Opening, Final, and Third-Place Matches Confirmed
- Opening Match: Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (2 August 2025)
- Final: Kasarani Stadium, Nairobi, Kenya (30 August 2025)
- Third-Place Playoff: Mandela Stadium, Kampala, Uganda
In a bold move that mirrors CAF’s commitment to growing African football, Zanzibar has also been announced as one of the host venues. Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar, which successfully hosted the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup Final in May 2024, will now host Group D matches.

- Group A (Nairobi, Kenya): Kenya, Morocco, Angola, DR Congo, Zambia
- Group B (Dar es Salaam, Tanzania): Tanzania, Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic
- Group C (Kampala, Uganda): Uganda, Niger, Guinea, South Africa, Algeria
- Group D (Zanzibar): Senegal, Congo*, Sudan, Nigeria
(*Congo replaces Equatorial Guinea following a CAF Appeals Board decision.)
With Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda sharing hosting duties, CHAN 2024 is poised to be a landmark edition that showcases the best of African football, while unifying nations across the region.
