Dissimilar Media Inc.
Effective Date: April 12, 2026 | Last Updated: April 12, 2026
Introduction
Dissimilar Media Inc. ("Dissimilar Media," "we," "us," or "our") is the owner and operator of Sportblot, a digital sports media publication accessible at sportblot.com and through related applications, newsletters, and podcasts (collectively, the "Services"). We are committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who uses our Services.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect about you, how we use and share it, how long we retain it, and the rights and choices you have regarding your information. It applies whenever you access or use the Services, regardless of how you access them.
By using the Services, you agree to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Services. This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Use.
Material changes: If we make a significant change to how we use or share your personal information, we will notify you by email and/or by prominent notice within the Services at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Minor updates (such as grammatical corrections or clarifications that do not affect how we handle your data) will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
1. What Information Do We Collect?
The information we collect depends on how you interact with the Services. In general, we collect information that can identify you directly or that can be combined with other information to identify you.
1(A) Information You Give Us Directly
Registration and Account
When you create an account or subscribe to Sportblot, we collect personal identifiers including your name, email address, and account credentials (username and password). We assign each registered user a unique ID. You may also have the option to sign up by linking a third-party account (such as Google or Facebook), in which case we receive certain profile information from that provider as described in Section 1(C).
You may optionally provide additional profile information, such as your favorite teams, preferred sports, or a display name and profile picture.
Billing and Payments
If you purchase a subscription, we collect payment-related information including your name, billing address, email address, and payment card details. Payment card information is processed by our third-party payment processors and is not stored on our servers in unencrypted form.
User-Generated Content
The Services may allow you to submit comments, posts, or other content. Any personal information you include in publicly visible content can be collected and used by other users of the Services. We encourage you not to include sensitive personal information (such as your phone number, home address, or financial information) in public comments or posts.
Reader Surveys and Research
From time to time, we may invite you to participate in voluntary surveys, reader panels, or feedback programs. If you participate, we collect the responses you provide, which may include demographic information or your opinions about sports, media, or other topics. Participation is always voluntary. Survey responses may be combined with other information we hold about you for the purposes described in Section 2.
Customer Support Contacts
When you contact our support team by email, chat, or other means, we collect your name, contact information, the content of your communication, and any other details you choose to provide. We may use automated tools, including AI-assisted support software, to review and respond to support inquiries. Support interactions may be recorded for quality assurance and to improve our Services.
Competitions and Promotions
If you enter a competition, prize draw, or other promotional offer, we collect the information required to administer the promotion, which may include your name, email address, and contact details. Additional terms specific to each promotion will be provided at the time of entry.

We collect approximate location information derived from your IP address (typically at the city or regional level) to personalize content, display relevant pricing and promotions, and comply with applicable laws. We do not collect precise GPS-level location data unless you explicitly consent to share it through the Services. You may withdraw consent to location-based features through your device or browser settings.

Our Cookie Policy (available at sportblot.com/cookie-policy) provides additional detail on the specific cookies we use and how you can manage them.
1(C) Information We Receive from Third Parties
Social Media and Third-Party Sign-In
If you choose to register or log in using a third-party service such as Google or Facebook, that service will share certain account information with us, such as your name, email address, and profile picture. The information we receive depends on your privacy settings with that third-party service. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any third-party service before connecting it to your Sportblot account.
Analytics and Advertising Partners
We may receive information about you from our analytics and advertising partners. This may include data about your activity on other websites or applications, demographic inferences, or audience segments, which we may use to personalize the Services and measure the effectiveness of advertising.
Publicly Available Sources
We may supplement the information we hold about you with information from publicly available databases or other lawful sources, such as publicly available social media profiles, to help us better understand our audience and improve the Services.
1(D) Sensitive Personal Information
We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of personal information such as government-issued identification numbers, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, health or biometric data, trade union membership, sexual orientation, or criminal background. We ask that you do not submit such information to us. If you do submit sensitive information (for example, in a comment or survey response), we will treat it in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
2. How Do We Use Your Information?
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
2(A) Providing and Operating the Services
We use your information to create and manage your account, process subscription payments, deliver content and features you request, send transactional emails (such as receipts and account notifications), and provide customer support.
2(B) Personalizing Your Experience
We use information about your interests, reading history, and location to personalize the content and recommendations you see on the Services, including articles, newsletters, podcasts, and data features relevant to the sports and teams you follow.
2(C) Improving and Developing the Services
We analyze how users interact with the Services to identify technical issues, improve performance, develop new features, and conduct research and analytics. We may use aggregated or de-identified information for these purposes without restriction.
2(D) Communications and Marketing
We may use your email address and other contact information to send you:
• Service-related notifications (account updates, security alerts, subscription renewals)
• Editorial newsletters and content digests you have subscribed to
• Promotional communications about Sportblot features, offerings, and events
You can opt out of promotional communications at any time as described in Section 5. We will continue to send you service-related (transactional) communications as long as you hold an account.
2(E) Advertising
We may use your information to display advertisements on the Services, including interest-based or targeted advertising based on your reading behavior, location, and inferred interests. We also work with third-party advertising partners who may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads on the Services and on other websites.
2(F) Legal Compliance and Safety
We may use your information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal process; to enforce our Terms of Use and other policies; to detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, security threats, and other harmful or unlawful activity; and to protect the rights, property, and safety of Dissimilar Media, our users, and the public.
2(G) Aggregate and De-identified Research
We may aggregate or de-identify personal information so that it no longer identifies any individual, and use or share such aggregate or de-identified data for business analytics, research, industry reporting, and other lawful purposes.
3. How Do We Share Your Information?
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share your information only in the circumstances described below.
3(A) Service Providers
We share information with third-party vendors and service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing, email delivery, cloud hosting, customer support, analytics, and advertising technology. These service providers are contractually required to use your information only as directed by us and to maintain appropriate security measures.
3(B) Advertising and Analytics Partners
We share certain information — including device identifiers, cookie data, and usage information — with advertising technology companies and analytics providers to help us serve relevant advertising and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. These partners may also collect information directly from you through cookies and similar technologies placed on the Services. We provide you with choices regarding these practices in Section 5.
3(C) Business Transfers
If Dissimilar Media is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice (where required by applicable law) before your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
3(D) Legal Requirements and Protection of Rights
We may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to:
• comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request, including a valid subpoena, court order, or search warrant;
• enforce our Terms of Use or other agreements;
• detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues; or
• protect the rights, property, or safety of Dissimilar Media, our users, or the public.
We will endeavor to notify you of law enforcement or government requests for your information before complying, where permitted by law and where we have sufficient contact information to do so.
3(E) With Your Consent
We may share your information with third parties in other circumstances where we have your explicit consent to do so.
3(F) Aggregated or De-identified Data
We may share aggregated or de-identified information — which cannot reasonably be used to identify you — with third parties for research, analytics, marketing, or other business purposes without restriction.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Specifically:
• Account information is retained for the duration of your account and for a reasonable period thereafter in case you wish to reactivate your account or in case of disputes.
• Billing and transaction records are retained for as long as required by applicable tax, accounting, and financial regulations (typically at least seven years).
• Usage and analytics data may be retained in aggregated or de-identified form indefinitely.
• Customer support records are retained for the period necessary to resolve the support matter and for a reasonable period thereafter.
When we no longer need personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and are not required by law to retain it, we will delete or anonymize it securely.
5. Your Rights and Choices
We respect your rights regarding your personal information and provide you with meaningful choices about how it is used.
5(A) Access, Correction, and Deletion
You may access, correct, or update the personal information associated with your account at any time through your account settings at sportblot.com/account. You may also request deletion of your account and personal information by contacting us at privacy@sportblot.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days and will process it in accordance with applicable law. Please note that we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes even after a deletion request.
5(B) Email and Marketing Communications
You may opt out of receiving promotional emails from us at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any promotional email or by contacting us at editor@dissimilarmedia.com . Please allow up to 10 business days for your opt-out request to be processed. You will continue to receive transactional and service-related emails (such as account confirmations and subscription notices) even after opting out of promotional communications.
5(C) Cookies and Tracking Technologies
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified when a new cookie is set. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Services, including your ability to remain signed in to your account.
You may also opt out of interest-based advertising served by third-party advertising networks by visiting:
• The Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page at optout.aboutads.info
• The Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page at optout.networkadvertising.org
• Your device's operating system settings (for mobile advertising IDs)
We honor browser-based Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where technically feasible.
5(D) Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is currently no universally accepted standard for responding to DNT signals, we do not alter our data collection practices based on DNT browser settings. However, we do honor GPC signals as noted above.
5(E) California Residents
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including:
• The right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell or share.

If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where our servers and offices are located. By using the Services, you consent to this transfer. We take appropriate steps to ensure that your information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law wherever it is processed.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, and you believe we are processing your personal data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection supervisory authority in your jurisdiction.

7. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child under 13 has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately at editor@dissimilarmedia.com . If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you visit. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third-party services.
If you connect third-party services to the Services (for example, by linking your Google account), the third party's privacy policy will govern its handling of your data, and we recommend reviewing it before doing so.
9. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA/UK Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
• Contract performance: processing necessary to fulfill our subscription agreement with you or to take steps at your request before entering into an agreement.
