Lagos, Nigeria—Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda are currently co-organising the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) PAMOJA 2024. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) formally announced the institution of the Technical Study Group (TSG) on August 2, 2025.
During the tournament, this revered technical panel, comprising top coaches, football tacticians, and former players, will evaluate performances, tactical trends, and emerging talent.
A Tactical Powerhouse Led by Champions
The man who, midway through April 2023, has been at the core of championing Senegal to CHAN 2023 success is now leading this excellent panel.
Having been known for his calm demeanour and tactical nous, Thiaw secured the award of Best Coach of the Tournament for his formidable leadership in that CHAN 2023; now, he will bring his sharp analytical insights from African and global events into play, but from the perspective of an experienced observer rather than an active coach competing for a championship, his recent ones include working on FIFA's TSG at the U-17 World Cup.
